OPEN CALL FOR PROPOSALS
Until now open calls for proposals were carried out in relation to:
1) Regional development initiatives in peripheral or disadvantaged regions in the four south-eastern provinces
Open call for proposals took place from 1st of October to 23nd of December 2008. Call for proposals was conducted in the four south-eastern provinces: lubelskie, małopolskie, podkarpackie, and świętokrzyskie.
2) Call for proposals for the selection of the Intermediary for the Block Grant for Non-governmental Organisations and Polish-Swiss Regional Partner Projects
The call for proposals took place between 17th of February and 17th of April 2009. Competition was aiming to select entity which shall act as the Intermediary responsible for the management and implementation of the Block Grant within 2 priority areas:
a) Priority 1: Promotion of the role of the civic society as an important participant in enhancement of the social and economic cohesion of the country;
b) Priority 2: Promotion and/or enhancement of partnerships between regions, institutions and social partners of Poland and Switzerland.
3) Environment and Infrastructure
The open call for proposals took place between 19 January and 19 March (20 April) 2009 and concerned two focus areas:
- Rehabilitation and modernisation of basic infrastructure and improvement of the environment
Objectives:
Objective 1: To enhance municipal infrastructure services in order to increase living standards and promote economic development
Objective 2: To increase energy efficiency and to reduce emissions, in particular greenhouse gases and hazardous substances
Objective 3: To improve the management, the safety, the efficiency and the reliability of communal/regional public transportation systems
- Biodiversity, protection of ecosystems and support of cross-border environmental initiatives
RESTRICTED CALL FOR PROPOSALS
Simultaneously, works were continuing towards the selection of projects under the restricted call for proposals procedure. Under such a procedure the following areas were covered: Measures for securing borders under priority Security, stability and support for reforms, priority Private Sector, as well as the focus area of Health Protection within the Human and Social Development priority and selection of the Information Processing CenterExecuting Agency, the institution responsible for implementation of the Polish-Swiss Research Program.
