1) Improving the business environment and the access to financing for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMES)
In case of this focus area, restricted call for proposals were used. The following projects were identified.

Individual project of the National Capital Fund Plc. regarding support of venture capital funds
On May 13, 2009 the Swiss Federal Council approved the credit for the project of the National Capital Fund. The project was the first project approved by the Polish and the Swiss sides, and it is also the biggest project within the whole Programme - it amounts to CHF 53 Mio.
On December 16th, 2009 a ceremony of signing the project agreement with the Swiss side took place. On January 20th, 2010 the Ministry of Regional Development (acting as the National Coordination Unit) signed on its basis with a National Capital Fund relevant Project Implementation Agreement.
The open call (first out of two) took place in the period of 10 May - 1s October, 2010. 14 apllications were submitted. Afterwards, the selected funds will support financially Polish Small and Medium Enterprises.

Individual project regarding institutional and regulatory capacity building for corporate sector financial reporting and auditing at the national level
On September 1st, 2009 Swiss side accepted the Final Project Proposal. On December 11th, 2009 in the Ministry of Finance a ceremony of signing the project agreement, along with the press briefing, took place. The implementation of the project is ongoing.
2) Development of the private sector and promotion of exports of SMEs
In case of this focus area, restricted call for proposals were used. As a result there will be implemented the project entitled Enhancement of regional competitiveness through Corporate Social Responsibility measures. In the process of selecting the project the Ministry of Economy was involved. The project will be implemented by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development. In 2010 the National Coordination Unit forwarded the Final Project Proposal to the Swiss side for further evaluation.
